NAS Oceana - Stables

The programs at the Oceana Stables are designed to offer a safe, relaxing, and fun riding experience for active duty, retired military and their guests. Tailored to the beginner, novice and experienced rider, patrons are invited to enjoy the great outdoors the way equestrians enjoy it most . . . from the back of a horse. The NAS Oceana Stables offers pony rides, guided horse trail rides, ring riding, birthday parties, picnics, petting farms, youth and adult horseback riding lessons, English and Western lessons, Scout Horse Badge workshops and boarding. Oceana Stables also offer summer and special interest camps, special horse events and hay rides.

The 125-acre facility features two outdoor horse arenas and one indoor horse arena, three stables, one full care barn, two stall care barns, and a pasture board facility to accommodate 105 boarded horses. In addition to horse boarding, the stables have 27 government horses that are used for trail rides, lessons, pony rides, horse clinics and special events throughout the year.
